Odeon

... was originally a Greek word for a place where musical competitions were held, ultimately derived from the Greek for 'to sing'. It was also used for a theatre in Paris that opened in 1782, and for cinemas in various countries (the first Nickelodeon opened in Boston, Massachusetts in 1888). You may be asked about 'Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation', which is often described as an acronym but is really a backronym.
